Helpful information about Smile Dental Hervey Bay (formally White Dental Co.)
Payment Options
We’re a small local business employing a hardworking team of fabulous people and investing in quality dental equipment and materials. Cash flow allows us to continue providing exceptional dental care, and so we require payment at every appointment. We accept payments via EFTPOS, Visa, and MasterCard.

Private Health Insurance and Health Funds
If dentistry is covered by your health insurance “extras” cover, your fund may rebate a portion of your dental treatment costs. The amount you’ll receive from your health fund depends on:
- The dental services you’ve received
- Which dental services your policy covers
- Whether you’re outside of the waiting period, and
- Your policy’s annual limit.
Please bring your health insurance card with you to every appointment so we can process your claim via our HICAPS terminal. If you have questions about your rebates, we will do our best to answer them.
Veteran Gold Cards and White Cards
Eligible veterans are welcome to use their Gold Cards or White Cards at Smile Dental Hervey Bay. Learn more about dental services for veterans on the Department of Veterans Affairs website.

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule
Smile Dental Hervey Bay offers no gap (free out of pocket) dental care to eligible patients through the Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS).
The CDBS is a Medicare-funded scheme offered to your child if they are
- between 2-17 years old,
- eligible for Medicare and
- are receiving a payment from Services Australia.
The CBDS covers up to $1052 over two calendar years for essential dental services, including regular check-ups, professional cleaning, and fillings. We are happy to answer any questions relating to the Scheme. Alternatively, more information is available at Services Australia CDBS.
Oral Health Care Vouchers
The Queensland Government may offer people who are eligible for public dental treatment an oral health care voucher. This allows the person to access dental treatment in a private dental practice. These vouchers can be used at Smile Dental Hervey Bay. You can find out whether you’re eligible for public dental care and oral health vouchers on the Queensland Government website.
